Hello and welcome to JBE!

We’re thrilled to have you back or to welcome you as a new member of the JBE family! I’m Brittany Kalivas, President of JBE One (our combined PTO and Endowment group). 

The new school year starts in just four weeks (can you believe it?)! Take a moment to review all the information and important dates included in this newsletter.

What We Do: 

JBE One aims to raise $200k annually to fund our Greenhouse teacher, Technology teacher, field trip transportation, Boat Building Program, staff appreciation, and more. View our full budget at jbeone.org under Parent Info > JBE One > Financials.

How We Do It:

Our 13-member Executive Board and their teams organize events like the Fall Oyster Roast & Chili Cook-off, Spring Color Run, Staff Appreciation Week, and Back to School Nights. We always welcome new volunteers! Learn more and sign up at jbeone.org under Parent Info > Volunteer.

Neighborhood “Nests”:

Each neighborhood has a Captain to keep you informed about JBE events. You’ll receive information from our Principal and newsletters, but your Captain is a great resource. If you do not have a captain, or have not been added to a Neighborhood "Nest" email me at president@jbeone.org.

Uniforms:

Uniforms are sold periodically at jbeone.org. If you need uniforms outside of sales windows, contact us at uniforms@jbeone.org. Don’t forget to get an orange Field Trip shirt if you’re new! And if you have not already done so, please review the revised uniform dress policy.

School Supply Boxes are Ready to be Ordered!  Details are below (click the graphic). We did the comparison with Amazon and the boxes are much cheaper than purchasing supplies on your own.  Please consider adding some of the additional wish list items for teachers when you check out! Ordering open through 7/31.

Instructional Fee. A $35 instructional fee is required for each student attending JBE for the 24-25 school year to support classroom instruction. Please pay the fee by August 1st using the following link.

Teacher Reveal - Wednesday, August 7th at 8am. The Teacher Reveal email, Sign-Up Genius for Meet the Teacher, and CD Staggered Entry Schedule will be emailed to parents.

Meet the Teacher - Monday, August 12th 8am-11am. Can't wait to see you at the Back to School Kickoff “Meet the Teacher”! Be sure to sign up for a time slot via SignUpGenius which will be emailed with Teacher Reveals. 

Tears and Cheers for K Parents, Tuesday, August 13th 7:30am-8:15am. Join fellow Kindergarten parents on the front lawn for Tears and Cheers to celebrate (or commiserate) the first day of school.

Back to School Bash, Friday, August 16th 5pm-7pm. Join us for an epic Back to School Bash featuring food trucks, foam, and games! Savor delicious tacos from Cachita's Kitchen, indulge in pizza from Johnny Focaccia, and enjoy loaded fries from the returning Taternator. Don’t miss everyone’s favorite Kona Ice to keep you cool. Dress for a foam party and get ready for games as we celebrate the return to school on JBE's campus. See you there!

Looking for ways to get involved? Join our Greenhouse Committee! We're seeking enthusiastic members for our "Plant Sale Team" and "Holiday Craft Team." Help organize two annual Plant Sales and a Mother’s Day bouquet sale, manage orders, and brainstorm fun additions to the events. The Holiday Craft Team creates enjoyable crafts for each grade level to take home during the holidays. Interested? Contact Kimberly Crane at 843-364-4903.

JBE Business Sponsorship Opportunities. Do you own or know of a business that you'd like to spotlight to over 800 Mount Pleasant parents and kids? We'd love to chat with you! Our Business Sponsors enjoy great perks like priority seating at May Day and having their logos on t-shirts.
