Hello Egret Families!
What an incredible year it has been so far! The "We>Me" theme is resonating throughout the school, and we're witnessing it in action. From the fantastic Plant Sale to the exciting Field Trips, and the beaming faces at the new playground equipment, there's so much positivity. We've also introduced 5th Grade leadership teams, unveiled $10k worth of new library books, and Principal Dorsey has brought a fresh energy to the school. Thank you all for being part of this warm JBE Community!
Plant Sale Success!
A massive shoutout to everyone who joined us at the Plant Sale last Saturday! The chorus serenaded us, and the Greenhouse Groupies, JBE Grands, and Community Building Teams all made it a memorable event. If you missed it, don't worry - you've got one more chance! Join us this Saturday, Oct 21 from 9-11 for a special 1/2 off on seasonal plants. We're still tallying the numbers, and can't wait to share how much was raised. If you haven't volunteered in a while, come experience the joy firsthand!
Down Syndrome Awareness Week
We're in the midst of Down Syndrome Awareness Week! Your kids are learning about Down Syndrome every day. For a lively fun Friday, Oct 20, wear your craziest socks and bring $1 to support the Lowcountry Down Syndrome Association. If you purchased a t-shirt, wear it proudly or opt for a blue/yellow shirt! All profits from the t-shirt sales go to this non-profit organization.
Lost and Found Friday
Check out our Lost and Found Friday features on Instagram and Facebook. Please label your clothes - Sharpies wear off, but Mabel's Labels work wonders and the school benefits too! Need to claim a lost item? Use this process. We will donate all unclaimed items at the end of the quarter (10/25!) so please double check the photo album to see if you're missing something! (Not all items are posted on social, so please check the album.)
Spirit Boat Messages
We've been loving your Spirit Boat messages! Several slots are open in Oct and Nov. Let's see some Go Tigers or Go Gamecocks enthusiasm out there! You can celebrate ANYTHING, not just birthdays. Reserve your date here.
Color Run Capital Campaign
Our Color Run Capital Campaign starts with a pep rally on Oct 31st, and culminates in the Color Run on Nov 17th! Start brainstorming fun ways to raise funds with your kids - lemonade stands, toy sales, bake sales, and more. This is our biggest fundraiser, and the kids absolutely adore it. More details will be coming your way, but save Nov 17th on your calendar for the Color Run - we'll need lots of volunteers to make it a success. Get a head start with this information packet.
