I decided to start subbing last year after COVID restrictions were put in place in schools and I was no longer able to volunteer inside the school at the front desk.  As a parent, kids tell you very little about the goings on at school (at least mine do), and when I was volunteering, I was able to get a little feel for it myself.  Volunteering and now subbing, has allowed me to really get to see all the amazing things going on at JBE, as well as really getting to know some of the amazing teachers we have and forming relationships with them. Some of the other special moments I have discovered while subbing are being able to sneak hugs during the day (one kid loves this, the other is completely humiliated- win win), getting to meet all the friends the kids come home talking about, seeing firsthand how the school schedule works, and seeing how hard our teachers and staff work for these students.  It has been an amazing experience and one that I would encourage anyone who is able to, to do.  We truly have a wonderful school to be proud of.
